Global Missions is about reaching out in love to our community in three areas: Local, National, and Global.
The team decides on projects for the coming year and meets regularly to ensure our congregation is kept informed on where and how to help with the selected projects and campaigns.
2023 Projects: $1000 was sent to support each of the following: Niteo Africa Library Program for Refugee families new to Kelowna, Kelowna Gospel Mission outreach projects, Father’s House Ukraine Children’s ministry – a country suffering through war, and Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR).
2024 Projects: Our congregation generously provided warm clothes and winter items for Kelowna’s homeless (distributed by Kelowna’s Gospel Mission teams).
Teams continue to provide ongoing help every Thursday, preparing food in the Kelowna Gospel Mission (Leon Avenue) kitchen.
A spring campaign is being launched to raise funds for Concordia Lutheran Seminary in Edmonton, AB as they celebrate 40 years of forming pastors and deacons.
You can donate to Global Missions year-round 3 ways: through the Church Centre app, through the ‘GIVE’ button at the top of this page, or via cash/cheque (made out to Global Missions) and put in the offering plate or bring to the office.
Concordia Lutheran Seminary is celebrating 40 years of forming pastors and deacons to serve congregations in Lutheran Church Canada (“LCC”); their budget is funded from congregations and donors in LCC. Global Missions (“GM”) has decided to mark this 40 year milestone by launching a campaign to raise funds that will directly support the seminary students. Our donations will provide basic financial aid to be distributed as needed: daily living expenses, tuition and books, bible software, stocking the food pantry, and clerical garments.
Thank you to those who regularly donate to our GM fund, regardless of project. Because of your generosity, GLOBAL MISSIONS has pledged $1,000 from its current funds. We are inviting you to help us double this amount with the campaign running from April 14 – June 30, 2024, with the goal of sending $2000 to the Seminary.
