Baptism is, as the Bible teaches, a gift for all people at any age.  Baptism is an ancient tradition still relevant today because of Jesus who instructed his followers to do so plus the wonderful promise attached to it!

Matthew 28:18-20 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The great part about Baptism is that we aren’t baptized Lutheran, Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, whatever… the Bible says that those who are baptized are connected to what Jesus has already accomplished for us, namely, the forgiveness and life that He wants to bless us with.  Acts 2:38 says “Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.””

One of our Core Classes teaches about the gift of Baptism for all.  If you desire to be baptized or you desire one of your family members to be baptized, please speak with one of our pastors.  We would be thrilled to walk you through this meaningful step of faith.  Call 250-764-3111 or email Keith Reisdorf (pastor) kresidorf@firstlutheran.ca or Lee Loveridge (pastor) lloveridge@firstlutheran.ca.
